Introduction to Microsoft Office
- 3 Day Workshop

Microsoft Office Standard version incorporates Microsoft’s most popular programs:
- Word - a feature-laden word processing program;
- PowerPoint - a presentation program;
- Excel - a powerful spreadsheet program.

The course is divided into three sections:
- Section 1 explores Word,
- Section 2 is devoted to Excel,
- Section 3 covers PowerPoint.
The last two sections build on concepts learned in the previous section(s). This course assumes that the student has functional Windows skills.

The following topics are covered:

Section 1 - Word:
  • Navigate the Word screen
  • Create, open, save and close documents
  • View documents in different ways
  • Format characters
  • Move and copy text, and work with more than one document at a time
  • Use the Find and Replace feature
  • Use Word’s automatic features to apply borders, headings, insert special characters, and bulleted and numbered lists
  • Use the Help program
  • Use the print preview and print commands to print documents, envelopes, and labels

Section 2 -  Excel:

  • Navigating Excel’s screen
  • Creating, opening, closing and saving workbooks
  • Entering numbers, text, formulas, and functions
  • Changing cell alignment and number formats
  • Using shortcut menus
  • Clearing, deleting, and inserting data
  • Using the AutoFill features
  • Working with columns and rows
  • Using page setup features and printing worksheets

Section 3 -  PowerPoint:

  • Navigate the PowerPoint screen
  • Create, open, and save presentations
  • Run a Slide Show
  • Edit a presentation in Slide View and Outline View
  • Use Spell Check
